Renee was my roommate in our sophmore year.  My planned roomate did not come back to school so this was a surprise assignment.  Renee was one of the most exotic and beautiful people I had ever met.  Yet, she did not seem to know it.  I was just a scrappy athletic type and would not have gotten to know her were it not for this Oberlin connection.  Renee played the Bass and attracted quite a following.  She played her instrument with deep emotion and even sensuality.  I was so fortunate to know her.  I am sorry she has died.  Susan McGarry
